NYC Floorball Wins the California Cup and Remains Undefeated in 2004

NYC Floorball made a strong showing in the third annual California Cup — the oldest tournament in the US organized by Fresno International — winning all 7 matches including the final against the Fresno team and the ‘extra’ game against the tournament’s all-star team. After going in to the semifinals as favorites, but losing to Fresno International’s gutsy team, Mountain View beat Clovis to claim the bronze.

NYC Floorball’s Micael Holmström was awarded the prize for most goals scored, while Mathias Lundmark was nominated the most valued player of the tournament. New York’s Andy Pratt received the award for best right-wing player and Lukas Nachmens the award for best defenseman. NYC Floorball’s eyes are now set on claiming the North American Championship, in Raleigh, NC, over Labor Day weekend in September.
