After three days of spectacular floorball action, NYC Floorball was again crowned Canada Cup champions. 12 teams made the trip to Toronto and the second annual Canada Cup making it the largest tournament in North America so far.
The tournament received great interest from the media and segments from the tournament was shown on both local TV stations and TSN, Canada’s leading national sports network.
- “I’m very happy with the way our players performed in this tournament and I think we showed everybody that NYC Floorball is the team to beat”, says Per Hammarlund, President of NYC Floorball.
NYC Floorball managed to get through the tournament undefeated in what can only be described as the best Floorball performance so far on North American soil.
Two of NYC Floorball players picked up individual awards after the final. Micael Holmstrom was awarded best defenseman and Tobias Blixt received the most valuable player award after completely crushing his opponents in the “points department”.
NYC Floorball extends its thanks to the host organization, the Ontario Floorball Federation, and all the referees for an excellent tournament.
All the players in the team are looking forward to coming back next year!
